Wisconsin State Capitol Visits

Wisconsin State Capitol BuildingAt each WHSA Spring Quarterly meeting Head Start & Early Head Start parents, program directors, and staff visit the Wisconsin State Capitol to meet with their legislators.  These visits are an opportunity for you to educate your Legislators on the value of programs in your local communities, to highlight successful practices, and share lasting mementos like children’s artwork.

Are you wondering “Who ARE my Legislators?”  No problem, use the Wisconsin State Legislature’s  Legislator Finder to learn both your state and federal Congressional representatives.  Just click on the link and enter your street address, the municipality in which you vote, or click on the interactive map.  You’ll learn your Wisconsin and United States Congressional legislators immediately!

To help prepare for your visits to the Capitol you can also check out WHSA’s  2011-13 State & Federal Legislative Roster to find contact information for Wisconsin’s state and federal Congressional delegations,  state Constitutional Officers, and state departments.  A list of state legislative committee membership is also included in the roster.  Programs may also want to look at the 2011-03 Legislative Roster by Head Start/Early Head Start Program which lists Wisconsin lawmakers according to the programs served in their districts.
